David McKay has been an integral part of the entertainment industry in Toronto for 22 years starting in 1984 working under the guidance of his father who established the business in 1973.
As the initial entertainment Customs Brokers supporting varying Theatrical stage productions at the old O’Keefe Center in Toronto; the Paramount venue for Stage and theatre, and the Storied Entertainment complex in Toronto, we have expanded into all avenues of entertainment customs and freight. Tour and vendor support from lights for the Rolling Stones and Oasis to wigs and masks for Lion King, or Beauty and the Beast and Hull pieces for The RMS Titanic Exhibit.
As Toronto has become the fourth largest Entertainment market in the world next to London, New York and Los Angeles, we have worked extensively to build IMEX as the full service Customs Broker for the entertainment industry. Successfully completed extensive stage, theatre, musical and entertainment productions in Canada and around the world, our working partnership supported with Horizon Entertainment Cargo Ltd. UK’s founding father, Phil McDonnell, has confirmed our ability to offer European state of the art Customer service for our clients in Europe.
There is an enormous demand for support of all of this entertainment related equipment such as lights, audio, video, stage components, costumes, props, to support the various productions. We have now become a premium one stop shop for customs clearance both sides of the border in North America, as well as freight forwarder specialists to put very time sensitive freight to points where they are needed to hit the stage on time.
We have continued in our pursuit to provide thorough knowledge, experience, and understanding the Entertainment industry in supplying Trans-border service with proper carriers meeting all variables of this very challenging industry. We understand the Customs components surrounding a vast array of variables surrounding such things as temporary importations, bonds, touring, anytime day or night clearances where it just has to clear through Customs. We must continue to be imaginative, flexible, original and forward thinking to stay on the leading edge of Entertainment freight.
